JOYCE CAROL OATES

Es una de las grandes firmas de la literatura contemporánea norteamericana. Autora muy prolífica, tiene en su haber más de cincuenta novelas y una variada producción de ensayos. Ganadora de prestigiosos premios literarios en su país y firme candidata al Premio Nobel, la autora reparte su tiempo entre la escritura y los cursos que dirige en la universidad de Princeton, en New Jersey. Desde 1978 es miembro de la American Academy of Arts and Letters. Después de ofrecer Qué fue de los Mulvaney, Las hermanas Zinn y Niágara, la biblioteca dedicada a la autora, que Lumen inauguró en 2003, sigue ahora con A media luz , una de sus novelas más celebradas por público y crítica.
